Ironman 70.3 Augusta set for 27 September

The 17th Ironman 70.3 Augusta is scheduled for Sunday, 27 September, with professional women due to start at 7:15 am and age-group competitors beginning a rolling swim start at 7:25 am.

The course comprises a 1.2-mile swim in the Savannah River, a 56-mile bike leg and a 13.1-mile run. The route takes competitors through Augusta and North Augusta, including the Augusta Riverwalk and North Augusta Greenway.

According to the event information published by Yahoo Sports, the swim starts at Sharon Jones Amphitheater and ends at the 5th Street Bridge. The bike leg begins at a transition lot in downtown Augusta, with the run also returning to downtown for the finish.

Spectators can watch the swim from the 5th Street Pedestrian Bridge. Reynolds Street offers a viewing point for the bike leg and finish, while the Riverwalk and North Augusta Greenway are suggested locations along the run.
