India and Sri Lanka set for unbeaten Women’s T20 Asia Cup final

India will meet defending champions Sri Lanka in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 final at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, 13 September. The match is scheduled for 6:30pm local time, or 14:30 GMT.

Both teams enter the final unbeaten. India reached the decider after defeating Bangladesh by 40 runs on Thursday, while Sri Lanka secured a four-wicket win over Pakistan in Friday’s semifinal.

India are seeking a record-extending eighth Asia Cup title. The team has reached the final in every edition it has played, while Sri Lanka are attempting to retain the trophy they won in 2024 after beating India by eight wickets.

Al Jazeera reports that India’s Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana are the leading run-scorers in the tournament. India’s Deepti Sharma and Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu share the tournament lead for wickets, with 11 each.

India won their most recent T20 international against Sri Lanka by 15 runs in December 2025 and have won nine of their past 10 meetings in the format. Sri Lanka’s record as defending champions, and their victory over India in the 2024 final, leave the title contest open despite India’s stronger recent record.
