I-80 Gold confirms high-grade intercepts at Archimedes, targets Q3 2026 production
Infill drilling results reinforce resource expansion potential at the Ruby Hill property, with the company expecting to mine its first gold from the Upper Archimedes zone in the third quarter of 2026.

I-80 Gold Corp has reported that recent infill drilling at its Archimedes underground project on the Ruby Hill property in Nevada has confirmed previously interpreted mineralisation. The results, released by the Nevada-based miner, returned high-grade gold intercepts at the Upper Archimedes zone, supporting the company’s assessment of potential low-cost economic ounces.
The data obtained from the drilling campaign will form the basis for an updated mineral resource estimate. This update builds upon the end-2025 figures, which recorded an indicated gold mineral resource of 436,000 ounces at 7.6 grams per tonne and an inferred resource of 988,000 ounces at 7.3 grams per tonne.
I-80 Gold Corp stated that the results provide a solid foundation for project development and reinforce the potential for resource expansion. Construction activities are continuing to advance at the Upper Archimedes zone, where the company expects to mine the first gold in the third quarter of 2026.
Parallel to the development of the upper zone, permitting activities for the Lower Archimedes zone are underway. I-80 Gold Corp indicated that these permits are expected to be completed by mid-2027, allowing for further progression of the project pipeline.
Holding the fifth-largest gold mineral resource holding in the state, I-80 Gold Corp is focused on gold mining and processing across a pipeline of projects in various stages of development. The Archimedes project remains a central component of this portfolio on the Ruby Hill property.
Market interest in the stock has been notable, with IAUX shares gaining approximately 60% over the past six months and 220% over the past 12 months. Street forecasts suggest the stock could more than double in the next 12 months from its current level, reflecting investor confidence in the project’s near-term production milestones.
