Hull City winger Sorba Thomas was unharmed after his car overturned in a road accident near the club’s training ground in Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire.
The club said on Friday that the 27-year-old had sustained no injuries and emerged from the vehicle “completely unscathed”. British media reported that the crash occurred on Friday morning.
Images circulating online reportedly showed the car overturned, with shattered glass visible on a narrow street. The cause of the accident and whether anyone else was involved have not been reported.
Al Jazeera reported Hull City’s confirmation of the incident and Thomas’s condition. The club said it was aware of the images circulating on social media and sought to reassure supporters that the player was safe.
Thomas joined Hull from Stoke City on transfer deadline day earlier this month and has made two appearances for the club. Hull are reported to be third in the league after three matches and are due to visit Chelsea on Saturday.
