GrapheneOS has released version 13 of its Messaging app, replacing the legacy interface with Jetpack Compose and Material 3.

The release rebuilds every screen and adds new conversation controls, along with support for larger screens. GrapheneOS says the update also addresses problems involving crashes, notifications, security and message handling.

Version 13 follows version 12 and includes updates to the app’s dependencies and required platform version. GrapheneOS did not provide a detailed platform-version requirement in the supplied release material.

The app is developed in the GrapheneOS/Messaging GitHub repository. A complete list of changes between versions 12 and 13 is available through the project’s Git commit log.

The supplied release page was partially unavailable, and the reported fixes and improvements have not been independently verified.
