Serge Gnabry has returned to full Bayern Munich training after an adductor tear, according to Bild in reporting published by Yahoo Sports. The winger could be considered for Bayern’s UEFA Champions League opener against Bodø/Glimt on Thursday, although his inclusion in the matchday squad has not been confirmed.

Gnabry has not played since Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid last season. His reported return gives manager Vincent Kompany another attacking option as the club manages competition for the No.10 role behind Harry Kane.

Ismael Saibari and fellow summer arrival Nathaniel Brown are also options for the position, with Jamal Musiala absent. A decision on Gnabry’s involvement could therefore affect Saibari’s selection, though it remains unclear whether Gnabry would start or play if chosen.

The selection issue follows Bayern’s 0-0 draw with Schalke 04. After that match, former player Didi Hamann criticised Saibari’s performance while arguing that Gnabry was a superior option on the wing.

Bayern are scheduled to face Bodø/Glimt on Thursday, with Gnabry’s training return leaving his possible involvement as a matter for Kompany to determine.
