Giants co-owner enters motorsports arena with ARCA sponsorship
The New York Giants and Gotham FC executive marks her first venture into racing sponsorship, aligning with pioneering driver Dystany Spurlock ahead of the LIUNA 150.
Emily Tisch Sussman, co-owner of the New York Giants and Gotham FC, has entered the motorsports sector through a sponsorship of racecar No. 66 for driver Dystany Spurlock. The partnership will be visible during the ARCA Menards Series race at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, with the vehicle displaying branding for Tisch Sussman’s “She Pivots” podcast on the hood.
Spurlock, a 34-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, will drive the Toyota for MBM Motorsports and Garage 66. She is recognised as the first Black woman to compete in NASCAR or the lower-level ARCA Series. Tisch Sussman’s involvement marks her first venture into motorsports sponsorship, and she is scheduled to attend the track on Friday to support the initiative.
The collaboration was facilitated by film producer Crystal McCrary, who is producing a long-form docuseries about Spurlock’s career through Foxxtecca, an experimental media company that has supported the driver this season. Spurlock described the partnership as an opportunity to demonstrate empowerment and create opportunities for women, stating that the “She Pivots” brand’s message would now be carried in Indianapolis.
Spurlock’s motorsports career began in drag racing motorcycles, where she won the DME Racing Real Street class in the XDA Motorcycle Drag Racing Series in 2024. She subsequently debuted in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class, becoming only the second Black woman to compete in that category. Prior to her current stockcar racing efforts, she worked driving 18-wheelers to fund her racing aspirations.
In the current ARCA season, Spurlock has recorded six finishes inside the top 15, with a best result of seventh place at Hickory Motor Speedway. She previously made history in NASCAR by becoming the first Black woman to drive in a race, finishing 36th at the Craftsman Truck Series event at Dover.
The upcoming race, the LIUNA 150, consists of 150 laps and will air live at 5 p.m. ET on FS1. Brent Crews, who competes in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series for Joe Gibbs Racing, won the ARCA race at this venue during the previous season.
