Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition set for October 1 release with new narrative and roguelike mode
The upgrade, priced at $70 for new buyers and $15 for existing owners, introduces Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted combat mode, and Ghost of Yōtei Legends co-op experience.

Sony-owned developer Sucker Punch has announced that the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will launch for PlayStation 5 on October 1. The release arrives approximately one year after the base game’s debut, which received extremely positive reviews from critics and players alike. The Complete Edition serves as a comprehensive upgrade, bundling the original title with substantial new content and quality-of-life enhancements.
Central to the new release is Echoes of Sekigahara, a narrative expansion that explores the protagonist Atsu’s past across two distinct time periods. This story arc introduces new explorable areas, alongside updated weapons, enemies, armour sets, and dye options for character customisation. The expansion aims to deepen the lore of the third-person action game, which serves as the spiritual successor to Ghost of Tsushima.
In addition to the narrative expansion, the package introduces Most Wanted, a single-player combat survival mode described by the developers as a spin on the roguelike genre. Players will engage in high-stakes encounters by accepting bounties, defeating enemies, and earning combat perks to enhance their survivability. This mode offers a distinct gameplay loop separate from the main campaign’s structure.
The Complete Edition also includes Ghost of Yōtei Legends, an online co-op experience that allows players to team up. For those already owning the base game, Sucker Punch has structured the pricing to accommodate existing fans. New buyers will pay $70, matching the launch price of the original title, while existing owners can upgrade for $15.
Beyond the major content additions, the update brings several accessibility and utility improvements across all editions. These include a new photo mode, an accompanying screensaver feature, and a high contrast accessibility option. These quality-of-life changes are designed to refine the user experience without altering the core gameplay mechanics established in the original release.
