Geneva Watch Days week brings a slate of major watch releases
WIRED highlights 10 releases and announcements linked to Geneva Watch Days, from limited-edition Swiss watches to leaked Casio G-Shock models.
Geneva Watch Days is strengthening its position as the watch industry’s second major annual event after Watches and Wonders, according to WIRED. The publication highlighted 10 releases and announcements associated with the week, although several launches took place remotely or outside the event itself.
Breitling introduced a 500-piece manual-wind B09 inspired by the 1960s Navitimer 806 Mk5. Prices range from US$8,900 for the stainless-steel model on a calf leather strap to US$9,600 for the bracelet version. The brand also relaunched Gallet, adding Flying Officer Chronograph 40 and Automatic 40 models priced at US$4,400 and US$2,900 respectively.
Other Swiss launches included Oris’ Gonzo-themed ProPilot X at US$10,500 and Zenith’s 40mm Solo Sport steel diver, priced from US$9,800 for the no-date model and US$10,900 with a date window. Hamilton added a 38mm, comet-inspired Murph model at US$995.
Independent brand Ming presented a 40mm worldtimer with a patent-pending system designed to adjust for daylight-saving time. WIRED reported that the 200-piece run had sold out, with prices ranging from US$9,750 for the leather version to US$10,875 for the Polymesh bracelet model. Tudor also announced a 40mm Northflag reissue priced at US$5,525.
Bulgari released an 80-piece Octo Finissimo “Dazzle” edition at US$18,300, while Hublot introduced Big Bang Original Soft Touch models using textured rubber across the case, bezel, dial and strap. WIRED also reported leaked Casio GAC-2500 G-Shock models, reportedly drawing on the 1983 DW-5000C and rumoured to launch in November from about ¥20,900. The Casio details, including timing, colours and pricing, remain unconfirmed.
