France’s interior minister said on Wednesday that police had suspended the use of stun grenades at student-led demonstrations, as allegations of police brutality mounted after days of sometimes violent protests.

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets across France on Tuesday, demanding better conditions in high schools.

That evening, President Emmanuel Macron met Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu and other ministers to discuss the crisis.
