Fox Sports analyst backs Michigan and Browns as underdogs
Will Hill says Michigan’s line movement may have overreacted to its narrow win over Western Michigan, while expecting Cleveland to challenge Jacksonville.
Fox Sports analyst Will Hill has backed Michigan to cover as a home underdog against Oklahoma in Week 2, arguing that the market has overreacted to the Wolverines’ narrow 13–12 victory over Western Michigan.
Michigan entered that game as a four-touchdown favourite but needed a controversial finish to secure the win. Hill noted that the look-ahead line for the Oklahoma game had Michigan at -2.5 before shifting to Oklahoma -6, an 8.5-point adjustment based on one performance.
Hill’s case for Michigan rests on its defence and the advantage of playing at home. He expects the Wolverines to respond after a week of criticism over their offensive display and the questions surrounding the quarterback position.
For NFL Week 1, Hill has also backed the Cleveland Browns to compete against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fox Sports cited positive training-camp reports on rookie receivers KJ Concepción and Denzel Boston, as well as Deshaun Watson’s reported 7–1 career record against Jacksonville.
The Browns–Jaguars game carries an over/under of 40.5, pointing to expectations of a low-scoring contest. Hill said unusual results are common in opening weeks, when starters have often played limited preseason snaps. The selections remain betting opinions, not confirmed results.
