Flick tells Barcelona fringe players to earn their chance in training

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has challenged players seeking more playing time to demonstrate their readiness in training, as the club prepares to face Feyenoord.

Speaking at a press conference reported by Yahoo Sports, Flick acknowledged that some players are unhappy with their minutes. He said selection decisions were part of his responsibility, but insisted those outside the starting side must stay positive and support the team.

Flick said Barcelona’s internal standards depended on unity, communication and commitment to the club’s playing style. He also said the squad had the quality to win the Champions League, while recognising that the path to the title remained long.

Barcelona are also targeting a third consecutive La Liga title, according to Flick. He described that ambition as a significant objective for the club and said the team was working towards it.

Flick identified Lamine Yamal as a player capable of deciding matches and said the forward was adapting to a new role as captain. He also praised Yamal’s continuing desire to improve.
