Engadget has reviewed 10 connected gadgets designed to make backyards easier to use and maintain, covering entertainment, lighting, security, watering, grilling and outdoor automation.
The recommendations include the X7 2000 ANSI Smart Projector for outdoor viewing, HARYMOR’s Smart Bird Feeder with a camera and AI species identification, and Govee Outdoor String Lights 2, which offer app and voice control, colour customisation and music-reactive effects.
For lawn and property maintenance, the ANTHBOT M5 robotic mower uses RTK positioning and dual-camera vision to navigate without boundary wires, while the LinkTap G2S Smart Garden Hose Timer supports app-based schedules, weather adjustments and water-flow monitoring. Engadget lists the mower at about US$680 and the hose timer and gateway at about US$125.
Security and outdoor control are covered by the eufy Floodlight Camera E340, which combines dual cameras, motion tracking and a floodlight, and the Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug, which adds remote control, scheduling and voice commands to existing equipment. The plug is listed at about US$23, while the camera and HomeBase bundle is about US$300.
Other products include Weber’s Connect Smart Grilling Hub, the Bond Bridge Pro RF-to-Wi-Fi bridge and Govee Outdoor Spotlights 2. Reported features include temperature alerts, control of compatible fans and shades, and customisable outdoor lighting.
