Efsixteen returns to Newbury card as Sky Sports Racing prepares for Friday fixture

Efsixteen is set to make her long-awaited return to the track on Friday, stepping up in class for the Listed St Hugh's Stakes at Newbury. The filly, a 350,000gns Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up purchase, won on her debut at Newmarket in May, defeating subsequent Listed winners Crownbreaker and Havana Sprite. Her connections opted for a patient training approach, skipping Royal Ascot to ensure she was fully prepared for this next stage of her development.
The race presents a compelling field of talented fillies, with several contenders bringing strong recent form to the starting line. Acting Lady, trained by Charlie Appleby, won a maiden at the Newmarket July meeting and will face Sexy Chick, who previously defeated her on debut before securing her own victory. Fast Track also poses a significant threat, having improved markedly since the Queen Mary, bolting up at Beverley and finishing second at Glorious Goodwood.
Other notable runners include Acclamation Star, who ran on well in the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes and placed second in a Newmarket nursery, and Angels Lane, who finished second over the course and distance in the Super Sprint. Blue Flight and Cosmic Mystery are also expected to be competitive, with a sharp five furlongs likely to suit their profiles.
In the Betvictor Watch Weekend Winners EBF Fillies' Conditions Stakes, Sorrengail clashes with unbeaten debut winner Evenfall. Sorrengail backed up her initial promise with a smart victory at Ascot, beating Speed of Sound, while Evenfall won her first race by nearly two lengths against Musselburgh novice winner Minster Man. Ferrystream, also unbeaten after a win at Windsor, is another key contender in a field that includes Coat Of Red, a half-sister to Group Two winner Chindit.
Sky Sports Racing will broadcast live Flat racing from both Newbury and Yarmouth, with coverage commencing at 2.03pm. The card features several high-profile debuts, including Quicken Away, a 500,000gns Frankel colt trained by Andrew Balding, and Rock Montreal, a 1m gns yearling for Godolphin.
