Edelman backs Seahawks to overwhelm NFL opponents in 2026
The defending Super Bowl champions reportedly return 20 of 22 starters as they prepare to open the season against New England.
Julian Edelman has described the Seattle Seahawks as “a storm brewing” capable of wiping out many opponents during the 2026 NFL season, according to Fox Sports.
Edelman pointed to Seattle’s returning core, quarterback Sam Darnold and head coach Mike Macdonald as reasons for his confidence. His comments are a prediction rather than evidence that the Seahawks will dominate the season.
Seattle enters the campaign after a 14–3 record in 2025, an NFC West title and its second Super Bowl championship. The team reportedly retains 20 of its 22 starters, although offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has left to become head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Seahawks have also retained key players including Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Devon Witherspoon, Leonard Williams, Rashid Shaheed and Josh Jobe. Their season begins at home against the New England Patriots in a reported Super Bowl LX rematch.
Edelman’s assessment comes as the Los Angeles Rams attract significant off-season attention after adding Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie, while Aaron Donald has returned from retirement. The competitive outlook for Seattle will be tested once the regular season begins.
