Former NFL players Breiden Fehoko and Emmanuel Acho were among the first to highlight the potential breach of protocol. Fehoko noted on X that such content typically requires approval from the team’s head public relations department, implying the social media team may have bypassed established procedures.
Acho suggested that the organisation’s efforts to protect Hurts’ image are well documented. He stated that while he could not guarantee a firing, someone involved in approving the post would likely face severe reprimand given the lengths the franchise goes to shield its star quarterback from negative narratives.
Analysts and fans argued that the clip exacerbates existing concerns regarding Hurts’ passing accuracy, particularly his struggles with throws down the middle of the field.
