Eagles running back Ja’Quinden Jackson rushed to hospital after head injury in training camp clash
Philadelphia Eagles running back Ja’Quinden Jackson was transported to a local hospital for evaluation after suffering a head injury during a preseason game against the New England Patriots.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Ja’Quinden Jackson sustained a head injury during the opening kickoff of Saturday night’s training camp game against the New England Patriots. The incident occurred early in the contest, with Jackson reportedly attempting a tackle when he appeared to take a knee to the head.
Witnesses described Jackson falling onto his back and appearing to enter the fencing position as trainers from both teams rushed to the field. An ambulance was subsequently brought onto the pitch, where the Eagles team gathered around their teammate in support before Jackson was loaded onto a backboard.
The Eagles confirmed that Jackson has “strength and movement in all extremities” and is being taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. While the specific nature and severity of the injury remain to be determined, the team’s initial report suggests he is responding to checks.
Jackson, an undrafted free agent, is currently competing for a position on the Eagles’ 53-man roster or practice squad. He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and spent the previous season with the Jacksonville Jaguars without seeing game action before being waived this offseason.
The injury poses a question for the Eagles’ running back depth chart, which is headlined by starter Saquon Barkley. Tank Bigsby is listed as the main backup, with Will Shipley and Dameon Pierce rounding out the current depth at the position.
