DoorDash will acquire Wonder’s Grubhub Campus Dining business for $300 million and invest $125 million in Wonder’s $650 million Series D funding round, in a combined transaction valued at $425 million.

The campus dining business, formerly known as Tapingo, operates at 450 colleges and universities, according to the companies. DoorDash said it plans to expand the service beyond campuses to venues including stadiums and hotels.

The deal gives DoorDash access to a specialised food-delivery operation while providing additional funding to Wonder, the food technology company founded by Marc Lore. TechCrunch reported that Wonder acquired Grubhub for $650 million last year and announced its Series D round in July.

Wonder operates delivery-focused food halls and says it has 157 locations. The company also holds brands including Blue Apron, Tastemade and several restaurant chains.

Wonder said it plans to expand into Texas in early 2027. The supplied material does not provide a completion date for the transaction or further financial terms.
