Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane was ruled out of the Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering a knee injury on a first-quarter run.

Achane planted his left leg to change direction during a non-contact play, then left the field for assessment. He was initially listed as questionable to return before Miami ruled him out in the second half.

Coach Jeff Hafley told CBS Sports after the game that the club was still gathering information. He described the early indications as “not very optimistic” and said he expected to have more details the following day.

Achane had three carries for 17 yards before leaving. His diagnosis and recovery timeline had not been reported.

Miami lost 24–10. Backup running back Ollie Gordon II also left with cramps and was listed as questionable to return.
