The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced their lineup for the 8 September 2026 game against the Cincinnati Reds without Shohei Ohtani. The source institution, Yahoo Sports, reported that Ohtani is sidelined for the contest, but did not establish whether his absence is injury-related or precautionary.

The Dodgers beat Cincinnati 6–3 in Monday’s series opener. Ohtani returned after four days off but went hitless in three at-bats, striking out twice and drawing one walk.

Tommy Edman will lead off and play centre field, while Mookie Betts bats second and Will Smith third. Freddie Freeman moves to designated hitter, with Kiké Hernández starting at first base.

Tarik Skubal is scheduled to start for Los Angeles. He is listed with an 8–7 record, a 2.86 earned-run average and 159 strikeouts this season. Cincinnati is scheduled to start Nick Lodolo.

The game is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PT and is due to be broadcast on SportsNet LA.
