Darnold ruled out as NFL injury list grows ahead of Week 2
Seattle’s quarterback will miss Sunday’s game against Arizona, while San Francisco expects rookie receiver De’Zhaun Stribling to miss roughly 10 weeks after ankle surgery.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with a glute injury, according to Fox Sports. He is not expected to be placed on injured reserve, although that does not establish a return date.
Darnold sustained the injury after leaving Seattle’s season opener. Drew Lock is expected to start against Arizona.
San Francisco 49ers rookie receiver De’Zhaun Stribling underwent ankle surgery and is expected to miss roughly 10 weeks, Fox Sports reported. Stribling was injured in the 49ers’ Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
The absence adds to pressure on San Francisco’s receiver group, which had already lost Ricky Pearsall to a season-ending knee injury in training camp.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow reported back tightness and was limited during Wednesday’s practice. His availability against Houston remains subject to later injury reports and medical clearance.
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray progressed to limited practice while working through concussion protocol. The update does not confirm that he has been cleared to play.
