Jalon Daniels’ first NFL start brought a mixed result: Tampa Bay lost 17–14 to the Green Bay Packers, despite a late scoring drive led by the rookie quarterback.

Daniels completed 19 of 27 passes for 148 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He also ran for 55 yards on eight carries, a total Yahoo Sports reported as a Buccaneers franchise record for a rookie quarterback.

Both interceptions came in the first half. The second gave Green Bay the ball near midfield with 34 seconds left before the break, and the Packers converted the possession into a 58-yard field goal, according to Yahoo Sports.

Daniels responded after halftime with Tampa Bay’s longest drive of the game. The 84-yard, 12-play fourth-quarter possession ended with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Gainwell, cutting the deficit to three.

His 21-yard scramble was the Buccaneers’ longest run of the game. The late drive narrowed the margin, but Tampa Bay could not overcome the turnovers and finished on the losing side.
