Orioles' Colton Cowser hits 2nd walk-off homer in 2 days to break up 13-inning stalemate vs. Rays
Baltimore outfielder delivers decisive hit in extra innings to defeat Tampa Bay Rays

The Baltimore Orioles secured a 9-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night, extending Colton Cowser’s remarkable run of clutch performances. The outfielder hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to break a stalemate that had persisted through twelve innings, marking his second walk-off home run in two days.

The contest remained deadlocked at 2-2 after nine regulation innings. Both teams managed to score two runs each in the 11th and 12th innings, maintaining the tie and forcing the game into extra frames. In the top of the 13th, the Rays took a 4-2 lead, but Baltimore responded immediately in the bottom of the inning to tie the score at 4-4 before Cowser’s decisive hit.

Cowser entered the game in the seventh inning as a pinch hitter for right fielder Tyler O’Neil. Six innings later, he delivered the two-run bomb that gave the Orioles the final 9-7 score. This performance follows a similar display on Sunday, where Cowser hit a three-run walk-off home run in the ninth inning against the Detroit Tigers.

The Orioles’ recent history with the Rays has been challenging. The teams are currently in a homestand together, but Baltimore was swept by Tampa Bay in April, including a blowout loss where the Orioles allowed 16 runs. Monday’s win provides a contrasting start to the current series.

Cowser’s statistical output this season includes three home runs in 91 at-bats, with two of those being walk-off winners. Both of his recent walk-off hits came after entering the game as a pinch hitter, having replaced left fielder Blaze Alexander in the eighth inning on Sunday.
