Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been nominated for the 2026 Goalkeeper of the Year award, known as the Yachine Trophy, at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, according to Yahoo Sports.

The nomination is reportedly Courtois’ fourth for the award. He won the honour in 2022 and is now in contention to claim it for a second time.

Yahoo Sports reported that Courtois recorded 17 clean sheets in 45 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions during the 2025/26 season. Real Madrid reportedly failed to win a major trophy during the campaign.

The report also said Courtois remained a regular for Belgium at the World Cup, where the team reportedly reached the quarter-finals.

Courtois is among a reported field that includes Joan Garcia, Gregor Kobel, Emiliano Martinez, David Raya, Yassine Bounou, Vozinha, Edouard Mendy, Unai Simon and Matvey Safonov. He has been nominated, but no winner is identified in the supplied report.
