Colts carry reported US$19.026 million in cap space into 2026 season
Over the Cap, as cited by Colts Wire, ranks Indianapolis eighth in available salary-cap space ahead of Week 1.

The Indianapolis Colts are entering Week 1 of the 2026 regular season with a reported US$19.026 million in available salary-cap space, according to Over the Cap figures cited by Colts Wire. The amount ranks eighth-highest in the NFL.
The position gives general manager Chris Ballard room to make further roster adjustments, although the report does not establish whether the Colts intend to pursue additional signings or trades.
Some of the space has already been used to assemble the practice squad. Indianapolis must also retain room for the weekly costs associated with elevating practice-squad players during the season.
The report attributes US$24 million of 2026 cap relief to moving on from Michael Pittman. It also says the Colts are without their 2027 first-round pick after acquiring Sauce Gardner last season, a factor that may affect the scope of any potential trade activity.
The five largest listed 2026 cap hits are DeForest Buckner at US$26.6 million, Quenton Nelson at US$24.2 million, Charvarius Ward at US$19.8 million, Daniel Jones at US$19.18 million and Jonathan Taylor at US$16.18 million.
Any unused 2026 cap space may be carried into the 2027 off-season, according to the report.
