Borussia Dortmund have ruled out a return for Jadon Sancho, closing off a potential third spell at the Bundesliga club after the winger became a free agent.

Sancho’s Manchester United contract expired this summer, leaving the 26-year-old without a club. Dortmund had been viewed as a possible destination after his strongest form came during his previous time in Germany.

Coach Niko Kovac said Dortmund’s squad was already large and that the club did not need to concern itself with Sancho. The club have instead signed Ethan Nwaneri on loan from Arsenal.

Manchester United signed Sancho from Dortmund for a reported £73 million in 2021. He made 83 appearances for United, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists.

Loan spells at Chelsea and Aston Villa followed, but neither resulted in a permanent transfer. The supplied material does not state where Sancho will play next.
