Clucky brings rooster wake-up challenge to iPhone alarm market
The App Store app uses wake-up missions, performance tracking and private groups to stop habitual snoozing.
Clucky has launched an iPhone alarm app that wakes users with a crowing rooster and requires them to complete a mission before dismissing the alarm, according to TechCrunch.
The app offers challenges including maths problems, memorising and tapping tiles, typing dictated words, shaking or walking with the phone, doing push-ups, tilting a virtual ball and an AI camera challenge. TechCrunch did not provide details on how the camera challenge works or what data it processes.
For users seeking a less disruptive start, Clucky also includes chimes, bird sounds and a conventional digital beep. An Extra Loud Mode increases the volume when the alarm sounds.
The app tracks wake-up statistics, including how long an alarm rings before a mission is completed, the number of missions beaten and total wake-ups. A weekly “Rooster Report” grades users’ performance.
Clucky also allows users to create private “Nest” or “Flock” groups with friends or family, enabling coordinated wake-ups and mutual accountability. The app was founded by Adrian Angelo Abelarde, a former Fanatics software engineer.
Clucky is available through Apple’s App Store. TechCrunch reported a pro subscription priced at $39.99 a year.
