Cloudflare opens contest for AI agent Git platform
Developers have until 14 October to build a platform for agents working on code concurrently, using Cloudflare Workers and Artifacts.
Cloudflare is inviting developers to build a Git platform designed for AI agents, as the company opens its Artifacts service to beta users on the Workers Paid plan. The competition asks entrants to show multiple agents working on changes at the same time.
Cloudflare describes Artifacts as a versioned filesystem that supports Git operations and can scale to millions of repositories. The company says developers can manage repositories from Workers, subscribe to repository events to trigger workflows, and set US or EU data jurisdictions for namespaces.
The contest focuses on the layer above repository storage: how agents coordinate tasks, review and merge changes, and handle conflicts. Cloudflare says entries should rethink existing development workflows for concurrent agent work.
Submissions close on 14 October 2026. Cloudflare says it will select three projects and fly up to two members from each team to San Francisco to present at Cloudflare Connect. The first-place team will receive US$25,000 in Cloudflare credits.
Cloudflare says it will begin billing for Artifacts usage on 15 October. Pricing is based on repository operations and stored data.
