Chelsea says affiliates of Clearlake Capital Group have acquired the ownership interests of Dodgers co-owners Todd Boehly and Mark Walter.
Affiliates of Clearlake Capital Group have acquired the ownership interests of Todd Boehly and Mark Walter in Chelsea, giving Clearlake full control of the English Premier League club, Chelsea said on Wednesday.
The announcement, reported by Fox Sports, marks a change in the club’s ownership structure. Clearlake previously held a majority stake in Chelsea.
Boehly and Walter are co-owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Chelsea did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction, the completion date or the precise percentage of the interests transferred.
The club’s statement did not provide details about any changes to Chelsea’s day-to-day operations, leadership or strategy.
The ownership change follows the 2022 purchase of Chelsea by a consortium including Clearlake Capital, which acquired the club from Roman Abramovich for £2.3 billion.
