Christian Gonzalez has reportedly become the NFL’s highest-paid cornerback after agreeing to a deal valued at $132 million, according to CBS Sports.

The report says Gonzalez surpassed Devon Witherspoon in average annual value. It does not detail the contract’s guarantees or wider structure, leaving the full financial terms unclear.

CBS Sports’ position-by-position rankings use average annual value figures from Spotrac. They come as the NFL salary cap exceeds $300 million per team ahead of the 2026 season.

Gonzalez’s reported deal follows a second-team All-Pro selection in 2024 and a Pro Bowl appearance in 2025, according to CBS Sports. The report describes the Patriots defender as an ascending player.

The wider rankings place Patrick Mahomes as the reported highest-paid quarterback after a revised contract worth more than $500 million, while Will Anderson Jr. is listed as the highest-paid non-quarterback following a reported three-year, $150 million deal.
