ChatGPT adds custom sticker workflow for iMessage and WhatsApp

OpenAI’s ChatGPT mobile app can turn photos into sets of nine custom stickers for use in iMessage or WhatsApp, according to Engadget.

Users can export a finished set through the app by selecting their preferred messaging platform. WhatsApp users are prompted to name the sticker pack before importing it, while iMessage is unavailable as an export option on Android devices.

The workflow also allows users to request changes to generated stickers, edit an image’s output or retry from scratch if ChatGPT misunderstands the request. Users can alternatively write their own prompt to guide the result more closely to the original photo.

Once imported, the stickers can be sent through the usual sticker controls in the relevant messaging app. Apple already allows iOS users to turn photos into iMessage stickers, although the available effects are limited.

Sticker generation counts towards ChatGPT’s daily and weekly usage limits. Engadget’s report does not specify whether the workflow is available to all users, app versions or regions.
