Charlie Becker chasing Indiana touchdown record after explosive start
The Indiana receiver has five touchdown catches through two games of his first full season as a starter, according to Fox Sports.
Indiana wide receiver Charlie Becker is pursuing the Hoosiers’ single-season touchdown record after a rapid start to his first full season as a starter.
According to Fox Sports, Becker leads Indiana with seven receptions for 145 yards and is tied for the Football Bowl Subdivision lead with five touchdown catches through two games.
He scored three touchdowns from three catches for 81 yards in Indiana’s 55–0 victory over Howard, an FCS opponent. The Hoosiers scored touchdowns on seven of their first eight possessions and prevented Howard from crossing midfield until late in the third quarter.
Coach Curt Cignetti praised Becker’s preparation, work rate and special-teams contribution, describing him as a player committed to becoming more explosive. Becker has also become a leader in Indiana’s receivers room after competing for opportunities with three more experienced players described as NFL prospects last season.
The Hoosiers, listed as 2–0, are scheduled to host Western Kentucky, listed as 0–2, in their next game. Fox Sports reported that Becker contributed to Indiana’s 2025 national championship campaign, but the source does not state the existing touchdown record or the number required to surpass it.
