CBS Sports rates Kenneth Walker a potential Fantasy RB1 after Chiefs debut
Kenneth Walker’s Week 1 production has lifted his projected value, while Emmett Johnson emerges as a prominent handcuff and waiver-wire target in CBS Sports’ Week 2 assessment.
Kenneth Walker has been identified as a potential Fantasy RB1 entering Week 2 after a productive debut for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Denver Broncos, according to CBS Sports.
Walker rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns and added three catches for 18 yards in the Chiefs’ 31–10 win. CBS Sports said his workload and ability to avoid tackles placed him among the strongest running-back performances of Week 1.
His 60.9 per cent tackle-avoid rate and 7.78 yards after contact per rushing attempt both ranked second in the comparisons cited by the publication. The assessment positions Walker as a possible high-value fantasy starter, rather than confirming his Week 2 output.
Emmett Johnson also featured heavily, recording 26 touches and gaining 44 receiving yards from two receptions. CBS Sports described him as Walker’s replacement and said his usage could make him a leading waiver-wire target.
Johnson was less efficient as a rusher, but the preview noted that many of his carries came after Kansas City had established control of the game. Brashard Smith reportedly did not receive a touch.
CBS Sports’ projections are based on the opening game and remain evaluative rather than definitive. Johnson’s role, like Walker’s projected fantasy value, will depend on whether the Week 1 usage continues.
