CBS Sports’ Week 6 assessment identifies South Carolina, Maryland, Colorado, USC, Michigan, Penn State, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Clemson and Michigan State as programmes under increasing pressure after poor results. It cites coaching concerns, offensive problems and demanding upcoming games.

The assessment describes South Carolina’s repeated losses and late-game failures as intensifying scrutiny of coach Shane Beamer. Maryland’s 48-23 loss to Nebraska followed a 51-point defeat to UCLA, with an unbeaten Ohio State next on the schedule.

Colorado is criticised for an offence averaging 10.3 points per game against Power Four opponents. CBS Sports also notes quarterback Isaac Wilson threw three interceptions in his first start, after replacing Julian Lewis.

Recent losses are central to concerns about Michigan, Penn State and Arkansas. Michigan lost at Minnesota; Penn State remains winless in conference play after a defeat at Northwestern; and Arkansas lost 34-7 to Texas A&M. Coach Ryan Silverfield said the performance was not good enough and urged fans to keep supporting the programme.

The assessment also points to USC’s loss to Oregon and defensive issues, Oklahoma’s offensive uncertainty ahead of its game with Texas, and Clemson’s low offensive rankings and nine turnovers. Michigan State is described as struggling to generate explosive plays during a three-game losing streak.

CBS Sports frames the coaching-security claims and outlooks as assessments of pressure, not confirmed decisions. The package provides no independent verification of the statistics or evaluations.
