Castleford Tigers have officially confirmed that head coach Ryan Carr has departed the club. The Australian coach, who joined the Super League side on a three-year contract at the beginning of the current season, was absent from the team’s last two matches due to personal reasons.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the club acknowledged Carr’s exit while requesting privacy regarding the underlying circumstances. “Castleford Tigers RLFC can confirm that head coach Ryan Carr has left the club due to personal reasons,” the statement read.

The club expressed its gratitude for Carr’s contributions during his tenure, wishing both him and his family well for the future. To limit speculation, both Castleford Tigers RLFC and Carr have agreed to provide no further comment on the matter.

The departure leaves the club without a confirmed head coach as it continues its campaign. Castleford currently sits ninth out of 14 teams in the Super League standings.

Round 24 of the Super League continues on Thursday, 20 August, with matches broadcast live on Sky Sports. The broadcaster will show every game of the Super League live this season, including two matches each round exclusively live, while the remaining five matches will be broadcast on Sky Sports+.
