Casio’s leaked ‘CasioNaut’ G-Shock range reportedly targets November release
The reported GMC-2500 and GAC-2500 models borrow visual cues from Patek Philippe’s Nautilus while retaining G-Shock’s rugged design.
Casio may release a new fully analogue G-Shock range in November, according to leaked details reported by WIRED. The stainless-steel GMC-2500 and resin GAC-2500 series have already attracted informal nicknames including “CasioNaut” and “CasioTilus” because of their resemblance to Patek Philippe’s Nautilus.
The reported resin models are expected to come in white, black, green and yellow. Pricing is said to be about 20,900 Japanese yen for the resin versions, while the metal models may cost approximately US$320. Availability and regional pricing remain unclear.
The watches reportedly feature a two-eye dial, with a small seconds subdial on the left and a date window on the right. They are also said to use Casio’s Magnetic Holding Structure, which holds the hands magnetically to help absorb impacts.
The GMC-2500 is reportedly 46.7 by 43.8 by 12.9 millimetres, while the GAC-2500 is slightly thinner at 46.7 by 44.5 by 12.7 millimetres. The resin range is described as drawing on the design DNA of the DW-5000C, the first G-Shock released in 1983.
The reported styling follows the earlier GA-2100, which became known as the “CasiOak” for its resemblance to Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak. Both the Royal Oak and Nautilus were designed by Gérald Genta. Casio has not confirmed the new models, their specifications, pricing or a November release.
