The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced they have elevated quarterback Easton Stick and linebacker Caden Fordham from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers. It is the first elevation for each player.

Stick is expected to serve as backup to rookie Jalon Daniels, who is set to make his NFL starting debut. The report says Baker Mayfield will miss at least three weeks with a dislocated right thumb.

Stick joined Tampa Bay’s practice squad on 31 August. Fordham signed as a rookie free agent in May and initially made the 53-player roster.

The Buccaneers waived Fordham on 2 September after claiming cornerback Kevin Knowles from Kansas City, then re-signed Fordham to the practice squad.
