Bruno Guimaraes says fitness is improving after disrupted Arsenal start
The Arsenal midfielder has played 134 minutes in the club’s first six matches after two injuries and a stop-start pre-season.

Bruno Guimaraes says he is feeling better after an unsettled start to his Arsenal career, following two injuries, the summer World Cup and his transfer from Newcastle United.
The midfielder has played 134 minutes across Arsenal’s first six matches. Yahoo Sports reported that his preparation was disrupted by a stop-start pre-season, while Guimaraes referred to a minor ankle problem and another unspecified injury.
“It has been a difficult start for me with two injuries,” Guimaraes said. “But now I am feeling okay now. I had a small problem in my ankle.”
Guimaraes also said he had not enjoyed a good pre-season and that setbacks had affected his availability. He said the priority was to reach full fitness, without providing a timeline for his return to a regular workload.
Despite his limited minutes, background reporting says he has contributed to Arsenal’s wins, including a goal against Sunderland and appearances in victories over Napoli and Aston Villa. The reported £75 million transfer from Newcastle United has added focus to his early involvement, but his latest comments do not confirm full match fitness.
