Brohm says Louisville must improve after players ruled ineligible
Following a 31–28 loss to NC State, Louisville’s coach said the absence of Jabari Mack and Kalib Perry was no excuse for the result.

Louisville coach Jeff Brohm said his team must perform better with the players available after a Kentucky Court of Appeals panel ruled cornerback Jabari Mack and linebacker Kalib Perry ineligible ahead of the Cardinals’ game against NC State.
Louisville lost 31–28. Brohm said the players’ absence did not explain the defeat, adding that others could perform better and that improving the team was the coaches’ responsibility.
The panel overturned a temporary restraining order from Jefferson County Circuit Court that had allowed Mack and Perry to play. The ruling came less than 24 hours before Louisville’s Week 5 game, according to Yahoo Sports.
Mack had played in Louisville’s first four games, recording seven tackles and three pass breakups. Perry became eligible on 14 September and played in the previous two games, making one tackle in each.
Brohm called both players important to the team but said Louisville would continue working with its available players. He said he did not know whether the eligibility issue would resurface.
