Brentford Women target FA Cup revival against Dorking Wanderers
Carly Williams’ side begin their cup campaign at Meadowbank, seeking to bounce back from a 2-2 league draw against Barking.
Brentford Women will open their FA Cup campaign with an away fixture against Dorking Wanderers at Meadowbank Football Ground on Sunday. The second round qualifying tie, scheduled for a 3.30pm BST kick-off, marks the first competitive step for the Bees in the 2026/27 cup competition.
Manager Carly Williams is looking to build on recent cup performances, as Brentford progressed to the first round proper last term before falling to Sutton United on penalties. The previous season saw the club reach the third round proper, where they were eliminated by Fulham in a 2-1 defeat.
In league action, Brentford’s winning start to the new season ended with a 2-2 draw against Barking in the London and South East Premier Division. The match saw Maddie Phillips open the scoring from the penalty spot, while Wiktoria Kiszkis provided the equaliser late in the game following a cross from Ashley Cheatley.
Dorking Wanderers enter the encounter occupying the bottom position in the LSE Premier table. The hosts have recorded two draws and three losses in their opening five matches of the season, including heavy defeats to Bromley and Newhaven, though they managed a 1-1 draw at Hammersmith in their most recent outing.
The two sides last met in the Capital Cup quarter-final in February, where Brentford secured a comprehensive 5-0 victory. Goals from Cloe O’Brien, Renai McCrea, Ashley Cheatley, Rebecca Teale, and Lucy Potter sealed the win for the west Londoners.
