Brentford reject Arsenal enquiry for Kevin Schade
TEAMTALK reports Brentford declined to discuss a deal for the winger and have opened talks over a new contract.
Arsenal reportedly enquired about Brentford winger Kevin Schade during the summer transfer window, but Brentford refused to discuss a deal, according to TEAMTALK.
The report says Arsenal were seeking further attacking options after the departures of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli. Christos Tzolis had arrived, but Schade was also considered as a potential addition.
Brentford reportedly regard the 24-year-old as central to their plans and would not entertain a fee, including one exceeding the club-record £70 million sale of Bryan Mbeumo. The reported stance is not confirmed as an official club valuation.
Schade joined Brentford from Freiburg in 2023, initially on loan before making a reported permanent move worth £22 million. His current agreement is understood to run until 2028.
TEAMTALK also reports that Brentford have begun talks over a new long-term contract. The timing of Arsenal’s enquiry and whether formal negotiations took place remain unclear.
