Borussia Dortmund confirms broadcast and officiating details for German Super Cup
Official arrangements for the upcoming fixture at Signal Iduna Park have been finalised, with Sky Sport Bundesliga and Sat.1 set to carry live coverage.
Borussia Dortmund has released the official operational details for the upcoming German Super Cup, a pre-season fixture scheduled to take place at Signal Iduna Park. The announcement confirms the broadcasting rights, the appointed match officials, and the specific ticketing provisions for fans attending the game.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sport Bundesliga, available on both linear television and the WOW livestream platform. Pre-game coverage is set to commence at 7:30 p.m., with Wolff Fuss providing commentary. Sat.1 will also air the game from the same start time, featuring commentary from Jonas Friedrich. Additionally, the match will be accessible via livestream on Joyn.
Referee Daniel Schlager, 36, has been appointed to officiate the contest, marking his first appearance in the Super Cup. He will be assisted by Sven Waschitzki-Günther and Tobias Fritsch, with Timo Gerach serving as the fourth official and Johann Pfeifer acting as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
Although the match has been sold out for weeks, the club has opened its official secondary market to facilitate legal resale. Ticket holders unable to attend can list their season tickets or day passes in the BVB ticket shop. The process involves electronically locking and unlocking tickets for the new holder, removing the need for physical transfer.
Transport arrangements vary by ticket type. Public transport in North Rhine-Westphalia is included for holders of DSW21 combo tickets and plastic season tickets. However, those with "Print@Home" or "Mobile Ticket" admissions must purchase separate transport passes, which can be ordered online at no additional cost.
On game day, the club will provide comprehensive updates through its digital channels. The BVB app’s "Holiday Mode" will offer news, statistics, and a live ticker from 9:09 a.m. until after the final whistle. Social media updates will be posted on X, Facebook, and Instagram, while the BVB Netradio will begin coverage 15 minutes before kickoff with reporters Nobby Dickel and Tobias Reiff.
