Bastoni agent confirms defender’s commitment to Inter Milan amid European interest
Despite reports linking the Italian international with Barcelona, the defender’s representative insists the player is happy at the Stadio Meazza and does not wish to leave.

Alessandro Bastoni’s agent, Tullio Tinti, has publicly confirmed that the Inter Milan defender intends to remain at the club, dismissing speculation regarding a potential move to Barcelona and other top European sides. Tinti, who was observed at Inter’s headquarters on Wednesday morning, held a meeting with Nerazzurri directors before addressing the media to clarify the player’s position.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Tinti emphasised that Bastoni is “an Inter player in every respect” and is currently “extremely happy” at the club. The agent stated that the 27-year-old defender wishes to honour his existing contract, which runs until June 2028, and has no desire to depart. “There has never been an issue,” Tinti said, asserting that Bastoni is committed to wearing the Inter shirt.
The confirmation follows recent reports suggesting that Barcelona had set their sights on the Italian international. However, Tinti maintained that while Bastoni attracts interest from elite teams due to his profile, the player’s focus remains on his current role within the squad. “Bastoni is an Inter player, and he will certainly remain at Inter,” he said, though he conceded that “anything can happen” in the volatile football market.
Tinti also clarified the nature of his visit to the club’s headquarters, noting that the meeting was not related to transfer discussions for Bastoni. He is the agent for both Bastoni and Matteo Darmian, with the latter expected to leave the Nerazzurri at the end of his contract on June 30. “We didn’t go to Inter to discuss Bastoni,” Tinti clarified, distinguishing the administrative meeting from any potential transfer negotiations.
Bastoni has established himself as a key figure since joining Inter from Atalanta in a €40m deal in 2018, following a loan spell at Parma during the 2018-19 season. This term, he has contributed two goals and six assists in 40 appearances across all competitions. He also holds a strong record with the Italy national team, having scored three goals in 43 appearances.
