The 2026 Women’s Ballon d’Or shortlist has been announced, with 30 players nominated for the award recognising the world’s best female footballer.

Barcelona leads the club representation with eight nominees. Manchester City has five, while Bayern Munich and OL Lyonnes each have three, according to Yahoo Sports’ report on the Ballon d’Or announcement.

The nominees include Barcelona players Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmatí, Caroline Graham Hansen, Cata Coll, Patri Guijarro, Mapi León, Ewa Pajor and Clàudia Pina. Manchester City’s nominees include Khadija Shaw, Vivianne Miedema and Yui Hasegawa.

Other players on the shortlist include Alessia Russo of Arsenal, Pernille Harder and Klara Bühl of Bayern Munich, and Selma Bacha and Wendie Renard of OL Lyonnes.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled for 26 October 2026, when the winner will be announced.
