Atlanta Hawks promote Peter Dinwiddie to lead basketball operations

The Atlanta Hawks have promoted Peter Dinwiddie from senior vice-president of strategy and analytics to executive vice-president of basketball operations, according to Yahoo Sports.
The move follows Bryson Graham’s departure for the Chicago Bulls and fills a senior front-office vacancy under Onsi Saleh, the Hawks’ lead decision-maker.
Dinwiddie joined Atlanta alongside Graham during the 2025 off-season. His promotion brings an internal executive into the role rather than leaving the position vacant after Graham’s exit.
The change comes after a significant period of roster activity for the Hawks. The team acquired Devin Carter, Aaron Wiggins and Lu Dort in trades, added Ryan Nembhard and selected Kingston Flemings, Zuby Ejiofor and Henri Veesaar in the draft.
Yahoo Sports also reported that Jalen Johnson averaged 22.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game during the 2025–26 season. The Hawks’ revised front-office structure will now oversee the team’s next phase under Saleh and Dinwiddie.
