ASUS ROG Gjallar gaming soundbar hits US shelves at $600
The company’s first dedicated gaming audio device features a 5.1.2-channel setup, Dolby Atmos support, and integrated microphones for headset-free communication.

ASUS has launched the ROG Gjallar, its first gaming soundbar, in the United States with a retail price of US$600. The device, which was first introduced in early July, is now listed on Best Buy and the ASUS US website, although stock availability remains limited. Customers can currently select a "Notify Me" option on the ASUS website to receive an alert when units become available for purchase.
Designed specifically for multiplayer gaming, the Gjallar features a 5.1.2-channel speaker configuration that supports immersive three-dimensional Dolby Atmos audio. The system includes a wireless 6.5-inch 65W subwoofer, which connects to the soundbar via a dedicated 5GHz link to minimise latency during gameplay.
A key differentiator for the device is its all-in-one audio control hub, which integrates microphones for communication. ASUS claims this technology filters teammate voices and in-game audio while suppressing background noise, enabling headset-free communication without sacrificing voice clarity. The hub also features an LCD display that provides access to volume and playback controls, input selection, and EQ profiles.
Connectivity options are extensive, with the soundbar supporting USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eARC, optical, 3.5mm AUX, and Bluetooth 5.3. It also includes two USB Type-A ports for wireless dongles and other accessories.
The ROG Gjallar is compatible with a wide range of devices, including gaming PCs, Macs, mobile devices, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and standard televisions. The product name is derived from the legendary horn Gjallarhorn from Norse mythology.
While the hardware focus is clear, the launch represents a significant entry for ASUS into the dedicated gaming audio market, targeting users who prefer a shared audio experience over individual headsets.
