Arsenal to mark Premier League triumph with Islington parade despite Champions League defeat
The Gunners will parade both men’s and women’s teams on Holloway Road on 31 May, ending a 22-year league title drought ahead of the World Cup.

Arsenal have confirmed plans to hold a trophy parade in Islington on Sunday, 31 May, to celebrate their Premier League title. The event will feature both the men’s and women’s squads, marking the club’s first league championship in 22 years. The celebration is scheduled to begin at 2pm BST on Holloway Road, following a season that concluded with a mixed outcome on the European stage.
The parade route will commence at Drayton Park and proceed east along Seven Sisters Road before turning down Blackstock Road, Mount Grove Road, and Green Lanes. The procession will then move south along Petherton Road, Beresford Road, Newington Green Road, and Essex Road. From Angel underground station, the buses will travel north onto Upper Street, concluding near Highbury and Islington Station before returning to Holloway Road.
The club has issued strict guidance for supporters, urging fans to avoid the Emirates Stadium area due to significant road closures and public transport disruptions. Extensive parking suspensions and road closures will be in effect between 4am and 8pm on the day of the parade. Arsenal explicitly stated that spectators will not be able to view the buses from locations such as Hornsey Road, Benwell Road, or Drayton Park, and advised attendees to allow ample time for travel while checking Transport for London and National Rail for live updates.
The domestic title comes after a challenging finish to the European campaign. On Saturday, 30 May, Arsenal lost the Champions League final to Paris Saint-Germain in a penalty shoot-out. The match ended 1-1 after extra time at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, with Kai Havertz scoring Arsenal’s opener and Ousmane Dembele equalising for the French side. Gabriel Magalhaes missed the decisive penalty in the shoot-out, which PSG won 4-3.
The women’s team will also be represented in the parade, having won the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup earlier in the season. This follows their Champions League triumph last year, adding to the significance of the day for the club’s broader sporting operations.
Despite the conclusion of the club season, the majority of the squad is expected to depart for their national teams shortly after the parade. The FIFA World Cup begins on Thursday, 11 June, and players are anticipated to join their countries ahead of the tournament to rest and prepare.
