The hub is described as a six-inch display with a camera and microphone. It is expected to control connected home products, including thermostats and door locks, and support video calls, intercom communications, photo slideshows and music streaming.
Gurman’s reporting also describes face and voice recognition to personalise content, with a visitor mode intended to hide personal information. The reported design, specifications and features remain unconfirmed.
The device has reportedly been under development for several years and was planned for release in 2024 before being delayed amid problems with Apple Intelligence. The latest reported date does not establish that the launch will proceed as described.
