Apple is redesigning its Health app to use Apple Intelligence to interpret users’ health data, introducing an Insights tab, personalised guidance, a readiness score and an app-generated “Health Age” calculation.

The Health Age feature will compare metrics including VO2 max, sleep and blood biomarkers with a user’s actual age. Apple has not specified the methodology, thresholds or clinical validation behind the calculation, so the output should be viewed as an estimate rather than a medical diagnosis.

A new longevity tab will use data from Apple Watch and iPhone to assess areas including sleep, movement and heart health. Apple said the app could offer suggestions such as adding running intervals to improve cardio health.

The update will also support more detailed movement assessments, including trainer demonstrations, for people who are ageing or recovering from injury. Apple announced the changes alongside the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, according to TechCrunch.

Apple also announced a partnership with Quest offering a 50-biomarker panel for $119. Availability and pricing may vary by market, while the broader feature set outside the initial release remains unspecified.

The redesigned Health app is due to roll out later this year, beginning in U.S. English.
