Angelo Stiller reportedly rejects potential Leverkusen move
The VfB Stuttgart midfielder is reported to have chosen Champions League football and continuity under Sebastian Hoeneß over a possible switch to Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen contacted Angelo Stiller’s representatives to explore a potential summer transfer, but the VfB Stuttgart midfielder reportedly declined the approach.
Yahoo Sports, citing Sport Bild, said Stiller chose to remain at Stuttgart after considering the possibility. The report did not clarify whether Leverkusen made a formal offer or only investigated the move through his representatives.
Stiller is expected to play in the Champions League with Stuttgart, while a move to Leverkusen would have offered Europa League football, according to the report. His decision was also linked to his relationship with Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß.
The midfielder previously worked with Hoeneß at Bayern Munich’s youth level and later followed him to Hoffenheim and Stuttgart.
Stiller’s contract reportedly runs until 2028 and includes a release clause worth about €37 million. Sport Bild reported that Stuttgart could buy out the clause for approximately €3.5 million if Leverkusen had submitted an initial offer, while the clause would not apply during the winter transfer window and would return next summer.
